Porsche Panamera Facelift Spotted While Tested

Porsche has been testing its 2nd-gen Panamera with a mid-life facelift. Spy shots hit the Internet.

A test mule demonstrates minor updates: a front bumper of slightly different shape, fresh LED daytime running lights, revised diffuser and light bar at the rear. Doors, a hood, headlamps, front wings remain unchanged.

We don’t know yet what we’ll find under the sedan’s skin. Some technical upgrades will likely be, including a more refined and efficient hybrid powertrain and more capable battery.

The current Porsche Paramera is powered by twin-turbo 2.9- or 4.0-liter 6- or 8-cylinder gasoline (petrol) engines. The latter delivers 549.5 hp (404 kW) and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm). They both will probably retain in the range for the facelifted model.

It’s early to reveal the on-sale dates, but we expect the Panamera will come after the Porsche Taycan launch in 2020.

As for the prices, they may be a bit higher than those of today’s starting costs of $86,300 (USA), €87,753 (Germany), £72,890 (UK).
