Porsche continues electrification of its model range.
The company plans to launch an all-electric Macan as a 2023 model, followed by the Boxster and Cayman EVs.
The Porsche Taycan won’t stay alone: the next-generation Porsche Macan will support electric drive. It receives Audi’s PPE architecture. The manufacturer is going to bring it into production in late 2022.
Its introduction will more or less coincide in time with the arrival of a new electric SUV from Audi – the Q4 e-tron, most likely.
The carmaker has produced the Macan since 2014 at the Leipzig plant. The model lineup includes a number of variants: the Macan, Macan S, Macan S Diesel, Macan GTS (pictured), Macan Turbo.
Besides, Porsche confirms that fully electric entry-level sports cars, the Boxster and the Cayman, are coming too, after the Macan EV.
Interestingly, those two will ride on their own all-new electric platform, which differs from the PPE.
Other electric Porsches are in the pipeline, we believe. Expect to hear about them in the future.
