Porsche has revealed a motor for the unique Porsche Classic Project Gold model. The company demonstrated a silhouette of the new sports car before to be created as a single vehicle especially for the 70th anniversary of the brand.
Despite some fears that Porsche can mount a modern engine, the car maker remained faithful to tradition and put an authentic M64/60 six-cylinder twin-turbo motor which develops 450 horsepower.
According to the company, the new car is based on the Porsche 911 with some cues of the 993rd and 959th. Although in general Porsche claims it will be an absolutely new car never existed before.
The debut of the Project Gold is scheduled for August 24, when the model is presented at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. In October 2018 the car will be auctioned at the RM Sotheby’s.
