Polestar 2 Takes Tests on City Roads, On Sale in the USA Next Month

The Polestar 2 has stirred the compact EV segment. Reviewers try it out and share their opinions.

This practical electric fastback has already entered the European market this month. U.S. sales, as far as we’ve heard, will begin next month. The starting prices are from £46,900 (UK), €53,540 (Germany), €58,900 (France), $59,900 (USA).

Targeted at the Tesla Model 3 as its main rival, the Polestar 2 can also be a competitor to the Model Y and the Ford Mustang Mach-E, though it is noticeably pricier than these cars.

The first reviewers who have tried the Polestar 2 say it is a solid contender in its segment. One of the latest reviews is InsideEV’s.

A Polestar 2 vehicle was driven around New York streets with and without the $5,000 Performance Package that included performance-specific tires, brake calipers and shocks, gold seatbelts.

The reviewer considers the Polestar 2 to be a good, worthy car he recommends for riding, although it is not a class-leader on paper. Tesla is better in terms of performance, acceleration, driving range, and speed of charging.
