The Polestar 2 will reach U.S. dealerships in the summer of 2020 priced below than initially stated.
This price reduction will make the model eligible for more state incentives including New York and California. Owners can get up to $2000 additionally in incentives.
Without the destination charge, the car now costs under $60,000. A new starting price is $61,200, this is $1,800 less than the value the manufacturer announced before: $63,000.
The Polestar 2 all-electric 4-door hatch with a 78.0-kWh battery and a targeted range of 500 km (311 mi) is the second after the Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid coupe in the lineup of Volvo’s performance and electric-vehicle brand.
It is the first production vehicle in which the Android Automotive system from Google powers an infotainment system.
The following options are available at extra charge:
- Performance Package including Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes, new wheels and tires – $5000;
- Nappa leather interior – $4000;
- Metallic paint – $1200;
- 20-inch alloy wheels – $1200.
The carmaker began production of the Polestar 1 last month. Expect deliveries to the American reservation holders to start in late summer 2020. The first Polestar Spaces will open on the west coast and in New York.
