The production model looks exactly like the Nissan Z Proto Concept.
Classic Z styling features – a“haunch” around the C-pillar, the design of headlamps and taillights, a wide radiator grille, the hood’s V-shape bulge, door handles – are the nod to the predecessors, such as the 370Z, 350Z, Fairlady Z.
The Z Proto is 172.5 in long, 72.8 in wide, 51.6 in high (4,382 x 1,850 x 1,310 mm), the Nissan 400Z will be probable same-sized.
The Z Proto’s cabin looks production-ready, so, expect to see similar deep-dish steering wheel and specific 12.3-inch digital instrument panel inside the Nissan 400Z.
As for the underpinnings, the model will offer “the excitement of a pure sports car” (Makoto Uchida). It is about a gasoline twin-turbo V6 engine and a 6-speed manual transmission.
Nissan will sell it next Z-car globally. It will be available in North America, but not in the European market. The automaker’ priorities in Europe are new crossovers and electrification.
