Order Bank for Ford F-150 Lightning Opens in January

Those who reserved a Ford F-150 Lightning will be most likely invited to place orders starting from next month, when order books are slated to open. The complete information about prices will come at the same time.

Orders for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning should open in January 2022, and the reservation holders will receive e-mail invitations to order, according to Car and Driver.

We remind that a reservation is not an actual order, it just lets a customer configure and be among the first to order a vehicle, but does not guarantee delivery.

Earlier this month, the Blue Oval closed the 2022 F-150 Lightning reservations. Ford has much more reservations (nearly 200,000) than its production capacity for the 2022 model year.

Apparently, not all reservation holders will receive an invitation to place an order for the 2022 model year, and some of them will have to wait until 2023.

Ford has informed it will offer two variants of lithium-ion battery packs for the electric pickup: a 98.0-kWh Standard Range pack providing up to 230 miles of range, and a 131.0-kWh Extended Range battery with the driving range of up to 300 miles.

According to Ford’s official website, the entry, commercial-oriented F-150 Lightning starts at $39,974, the mid-level XLT is priced at $52,974, the most expensive version is $90,474. The prices are preliminary and will be finalized at the time of order. They exclude all fees, charges, taxes, optional equipment.

Moreover, the model is eligible for a $7,500 Federal Tax Credit in the USA. Expect the customer deliveries to begin in the spring of 2022.
