The next-generation Nissan Frontier mid-size pickup truck debuts on February 4, 2021 at 1 p.m. EST.
Ahead of the premiere, Nissan is teasing the model in a short video that reveals some vehicle parts: a wheel, a grille, a side mirror.
What We Already Know
The 2022 Frontier will inherit the current model’s naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V6 delivering 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque in combination with a 9-speed automatic transmission and rear- or four-wheel drive.
Expect the new Frontier will have the same or larger payload and towing capacities as the outgoing pickup – 1450 lbs and 6720 lbs, respectively.
The 2022 Nissan Frontier will offer an extended cab variant, as well as a crew-cab configuration: both suggest availability of a short and a long cargo bed.
To be competitive in the segment, the next-gen vehicle should be more contemporary than the current Frontier, that is, to provide a higher-quality interior, better connectivity and safety, an extended list of standard features.
The price for the 2022 Nissan Frontier should be slightly higher than the current starting price of $27,885.
We’ll know all the details in a day.
