Nissan Previewed New Models, Including Next-Gen Z and Frontier

Nissan has previewed new and updated models in a teaser video.

The company is going to refresh its aging SUV and pickup lineups over the next year or so. In the video, Nissan shows the next-generation Z and Frontier.

The new-gen Nissan Z sports car will wear a 400Z nameplate. It got a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 making at least 400 hp in pair with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic transmission.

The other models teased by Nissan are:

  • a production version of the Ariya all-electric crossover concept;
  • the full-size Armada SUV with styling updates;
  • the Kicks facelift;
  • a redesigned version of the Nissan Pathfinder three-row mid-size SUV;
  • new Rogue and Rogue Sport.

The carmaker finally redesigns its mid-size pickup truck for the first time in more than 10 years.

The next-gen Nissan Frontier is powered by a new 3.8-liter V6 engine first seen in the 2020 model. The mill produces 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque.

This is a boost of 49 hp with same torque as the previous 4.0-liter V6’s. Power is sent through a 9-speed automatic gearbox. A manual transmission is no longer on offer as option.

The truck gets boxier proportions, new headlight, more pronounced fender flares, Nissan’s dual-bar grille with the badge in the middle.

The 2021 Nissan Frontier should debut in 2020 and arrive during this year.
