The 2023 Nissan Murano is on sale now. The starting price is $34,955.
The Nissan Murano has entered the next model year with minor updates. They include a new logo of the brand inside and out and a couple of fresh exterior colors – a stylish Deep Ocean Blue Pearl and an elegant Super Black.
As before, the model is available in four trim levels: S, SV, SL, and Platinum. The 2023 model costs between $34,955 and $48,205 incl. destination.
The Murano’s base engine is a 3.5-liter six-cylinder making 260 hp. The power is transmitted to either front wheels or to four wheels via an Intelligent AWD system.
The standard equipment includes LED lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen of the NissanConnect multimedia system with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto compatibility.
The Nissan Murano has high rankings in safety and customer appeal. This is a decent crossover that is convenient, reliable, and modern enough to satisfy most needs of the driver and passengers.
Nevertheless, its sales in the USA dropped twice if we compare the 2nd quarter of this year and the same period of last year: 7,396 units in 2021 vs 15,495 units in 2022.
What to do? – The model lives in a highly competitive environment and, in some respects, it does not reach the level of some better-rounded rivals.
For example, the Ford Edge has a roomier cargo compartment, a higher-end infotainment system, and sharper handling, plus it comes with standard all-wheel drive.
Though the Honda CR-V is smaller in size, it offers more cargo space and a nicer interior than the Murano. In addition, the Honda is cheaper. You can save around $6K by buying a higher CR-V trim that is similarly equipped to the base Murano.
