The 14th-generation Ford F-150 will feature an on-board inverter generator for the first time.
The on-board generator integration into the 2021 Ford F-150 should save space in the truck bed. As for its availability and cost, there is no information so far about a price tag and trim levels / versions the generator will come with.
However, it should be offered on a gasoline model and a hybrid.
Ford already applied inverter generator systems on several trucks for the SEMA Show (Specialty Equipment Market Association), like the Transfer Flow Ford F-150, for example (in the video below).
In addition to the generator, the new F-150 will offer over-the-air updates, also for the first time in its history.
The model has been rescheduled to go into production in October 2020. The current Ford F-150’s average transaction price exceeds $51,000. It is roughly $16,000 more than the industry average.
Being the core model of the brand, the F-150 for years continues to be the American top-seller, – the best pickup in the USA and the best-selling vehicle on those shores.
