In early autumn Hyundai will begin to supply the next generation of its flagship crossover to the Old World. The new Santa Fe in Europe will cost from £33,425, the Auto Express reports.
Hyundai has announced the prices and trim levels for its brand-new Santa Fe SUV. The rival of the Skoda Kodiaq and Nissan X-Trail is valued at £33,425 for the entry-level version in Great Britain. This is approximately €37,700 or $43,900.
Three trim levels are offered: SE, Premium and Premium SE. The basic version comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, climate control, heated front seats and a touch screen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Premium features 18-inch wheels, LED lights, a keyless entry system, leather seats, an electric rear door and a touch screen with satellite navigation and Krell audio system. There are 19-inch wheels on the Premium SE version. A panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats are also included.
As before, the only engine offered in the UK will be a 2.2-liter diesel. This is an upgraded version of the previous model, which received additional filters to reduce emissions while maintaining the same 200 hp and 440 nm of torque.
The transmission is a six-speed manual gearbox or a new eight-speed automatics. Hyundai claims that the fuel consumption of the new Santa Fe is 6 liters in the combined cycle, regardless of the choice of gearbox or driven wheels.
Models with front-wheel drive will be offered with all three trim levels. A revised four-wheel drive system can distribute power between axles depending on the driving modes: a 50:50 split is possible in sports mode, but 100% of the torque can be transmitted to the front wheels to help save fuel.
The boot space is enlarged: the previous seven-seater Santa Fe had a 516-liter volume with 5 raised seats, which expanded to 1,615 when folding the middle seats. Both these parameters are increased to 547 and 1625 liters accordingly on the new-generation SUV.
The new Santa Fe will be available only as a seven-seater.
