The new Porsche Panamera set a record at the Nürburgring in the “executive cars” category. The world premiere of the model is scheduled on August 26.
Test and development driver Lars Kern completed a full lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife over a distance of 20.832 km with a new Porsche Panamera in 7:29.81 minutes.
In the official ranking of Nürburgring GmbH, this time certified by a notary public now stands as a new record in the “executive cars” category.
Porsche mentioned several upgrades over the regular Panamera Turbo, including the power increase as high as to 625 hp and 614 lb-ft (832 Nm) of torque. Today’s figures are 542 hp and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm).
The carmaker claims a new version named the Porsche Paramera Turbo S to sit between the Turbo and the Turbo S E-Hybrid.
UPDATE 08-20-20: The 2021 model will make its debut on August 26, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. CEST, online in its own web format Porsche NewsTV – among others with CEO Oliver Blume and racing driver Timo Bernhard.
