New Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Introduced with Most Powerful V8

Porsche rounds off the Cayenne model range with the Turbo GT version available exclusively as a 4-seater Coupé. The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT can be ordered now.

Under the hood of the newcomer, there is 4-liter twin-turbo 631-hp/527 lb-ft V8 engine – Porsche’s most powerful eight-cylinder unit at present.

Compared to the Cayenne Turbo Coupé, the Turbo GT produces 89 hp and 59 lb-ft more, has 0.6 sec faster 0-62 mph acceleration (3.3. seconds), and the top speed of 186 mph – 9 mph more.

The car has a faster-shifting 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission.The carmaker also modified the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system.

The Turbo GT’s ride height is 0.06 ft (0.67 in) lower, front wheels are 1.0 inch wider. Its handling, rigidity and damper characteristics of the air suspension, roll stability are better than those of the Turbo Coupé.

The Cayenne Turbo GT comes with model-specific performance tires (22-inch Pirelli P Zero Corsa) and all available chassis systems fitted as standard. The powertrain and chassis are specially tuned for this version. The standard sports exhaust system, with its central tailpipes, is unique to the Cayenne Turbo GT.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT lapped the 20.832 km Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:38.9 minutes. This is a new official SUV record.

Exterior, Interior

The exterior features many carbon details (roof, side plates, diffuser panel), a GT-specific front apron, black wheel arch extensions, 22-inch GT Design wheels in Neodyme, an optional new Arctic Grey color. An adaptively extendable rear spoiler’s lip is 25 mm (0.98 in) larger than the Turbo’s.

The interior features high-quality standard equipment, lots of Alcantara. 8-way sport front seats, a sport rear seat system with two seats are standard. A multifunction sports steering wheel has a yellow 12 o’clock marking.

The next-generation Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system debuts on the Cayenne Turbo GT.

The car is available to order now. European dealerships will get it in mid-September 2021. Prices in Germany start at 196,078 euros incl. VAT and country-specific equipment.

The new model will arrive in the USA early next year. The starting price there is $182,150.
