A new flagship model has joined the Mercedes-Bens A-Class lineup. It’s about the hot AMG A35 sedan with the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a powerful turbo motor delivering more than 300hp.
The Mercedes-AMG A35 sports hatchback made its debut in Paris last year. Now the company has presented the sedan body-styled modification similar to the hatchback from a technical point of view, with a new aerodynamic body kit (Aerodynamics Package) and new wheels.
Under the hood you‘ll find a gasoline 2.0-liter 302-hp turbo engine combined with the 4Matic all-wheel drive technology and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT 7G). The torque distribution varies from front-wheel drive only to a 50:50 percent transfer to the front and rear axles.
The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.8 seconds and gains the top speed of 155mph (250 km/h) electronically limited.
There is a high-performance braking system designed to improve handling, as well as an adjustable AMG suspension.
In the cabin there are sports seats, a new-generation AMG steering wheel, an all-digital instrument cluster of special design and the latest-generation MBUX multimedia system. The AMG A35 trim options are available.
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz A35 AMG 4Matic Sedan should go on sale in late 2019. Unlike the hatchback, the sedan will be sold not only in Europe but in North America too, but the launch time and prices are still unknown.
The regular A-Class sedan costs from $32,500 in the U.S today. Apart from the A35 hot sedan, Mercedes-AMG will market the GT 4-door Coupe and the Project One models in America.
