New Maybach GLS Spotted Undisguised, Its Debut Is Around the Corner

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz Maybach’s road tests are coming to an end. Spies have photographed a vehicle with no camouflage.

The new Maybach will debut next year. Launching this luxury giant, Mercedes challenges to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and the Bentley Bentayga.

The model is the Mercedes-Benz GLS sibling, more luxurious indeed, with a wider and bolder front grille, a reshaped front bumper and slight changes at the rear. Expect the refined and upscale cabin.

This Maybach has been previewed by the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Vision Maybach Ultimate Luxury Concept (upper photo), with which it shares some details.

The carmaker revealed it at the Beijing Motor Show. The concept had an electric drivetrain, while a series-production Maybach will be powered by a V8 engine, though the company plans to electrify it in the future.

The Mercedes Maybach SUV will incorporate the GLS’s drivetrain set for maximum comfort and luxury. It may get special driving modes, a smoother gearbox, a brand new suspension set-up.

According to Mercedes, they are working on a “new high-level active body control” and a combination with the brand’s camera system “together with the future system to create new features and new level of comfort.”
