Today Honda has announced a new electric SUV model. Its “Prologue” name symbolizes first in a new series of volume Honda battery-electric models.
The vehicle should arrive in early 2024. It will offer good functionality and packaging. Over a few next months, the carmaker will release more specified information about the upcoming vehicle.
The same year, an pure electric Acura sport utility vehicle will debut. Both the Honda Prologue and the Acura SUV will ride on a highly flexible global EV platform and use GM’s Ultium batteries.
Besides, a new e:Architecture will be the basis for the whole lineup of Honda’s new electric cars. Honda launches them within the 2nd half of the decade.
The manufacturer strives to have all sales in North America fully electric by 2040: 40% by 2030, 80% by 2035, 100% by 2040. Meantime, Honda is celebrating its best-ever first-half year of electrified vehicle sales. The leaders among them are the CR-V Hybrid and Accord Hybrid.
