New Genesis G80 Sport Revealed

Genesis adds a new-generation G80 Sport to the midsize luxury sedan lineup.

The regular Genesis G80 in its second generation debuted last March and went on sale in summer 2020.

It has an all-electric offspring – the first EV of the premium brand called the Electrified G80. This version premiered at the Shanghai Auto Show on 19 April 2021. U.S. sales should start in late 2021.

Now the company has presented the exterior and interior of its next Genesis G80 Sport. This sportier version is a rival to the BMW 5 Series.

The newcomer’s distinctive features are a unique Cavendish Red color and rear-wheel steering for better maneuverability in tight spots.

Other updates include new, more aggressive bumpers, exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels, red and black brake calipers, a ‘4WD’ badge, dual exhaust tips.

In the cabin, there is a three-spoke steering wheel with red stitching, the Sevilla Red leather upholstery, real aluminum, and carbon finishes.

Genesis is set to launch the model in the third quarter of this year. Specs will be known closer to the on-sale date.

Expect to meet a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine under the hood of the Genesis G80 Sport. in the regular model, it delivers 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque.
