The next-generation Genesis G90 has debuted. The new model represents the most elegant interpretation of the brand’s design. It goes on sale next year.
The Genesis G90 flagship sedan enters its new generation introducing a new direction with advanced technologies to make the trip easier for the driver and passengers.
The innovations include rear-wheel steering, a multi-chamber air suspension, such features to guide the driver as EasyClose and Remote Smart Parking Assist, or Mood Curator and Virtual Venue to meet the driver’s aesthetic and emotional needs.
The Genesis G90’s exterior is the most elegant ever, with a new Crest Grille, thin Two-Line headlamps and rear lamps, a Clamshell Hood, daytime running lights that border the vehicle’s first and second rows in harmony with thick C-pillars, a Genesis lettering emblem at the rear, lowered functional elements.
The interior of the luxury sedan represents the Beauty of White Space design: a combination of new technologies with luxurious details that come with analog sensitivities. The G90 uses a next-generation infotainment system – Integrated Cockpit – that integrates the cluster and navigation into a panoramic display. Glass and aluminum materials are used for the center console.
An electronic dial-type Shift-By-Wire component and a dial-type Central Control Panel are differentiated to intuitively distinguish between them while driving.
There are two separately-controlled panoramic sunroofs above the seating. Ambient lighting installed on the sunroofs’ ends is linked to the vehicle’s other ambient lighting navigation.
Naturally, Genesis uses high-quality materials for the cabin, including Newspaper Crown Wood and Newspaper Stripe Wood.
Genesis first metal inlay garnishes in traditional Korean crafting technique are used to maximize the sense of stature by inlaying the Two Lines and the G-matrix pattern onto ash wood, real metal, and forged carbon surfaces.
In Korea, the Genesis G90 offers a choice of 12 exterior color options and five color combinations for the interior. The model is powered by a gasoline 3.5-liter turbocharged engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
More details on the engine performance and specifications will be revealed closer to the launch. U.S. customer deliveries will begin in 2022, but we’ll know later when exactly.
