New-gen Audi S3 Sportback and Sedan Unveiled

Audi presents the next-generation S3, both in sedan and hatchback body styles.

The 2021 Audi S3 comes as standard with a 2.0 TFSI engine that delivers 228 kW (306 hp) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. The mill is mated to a 7-speed S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive.

Combined fuel consumption is 31.8 mpg (7.4 l/100 km) – hatchback, and 32.2–32.7 mpg (7.3–7.2 l/100km) – sedan. Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 4.8 seconds.


The S3’s cabin features a driver-focused cockpit, a new-gen MIB 3 infotainment system, a standard 10.25-inch digital display, an optional head-up display; new helpful driver assist systems, a virtual cockpit and its “plus” version, optional ambient lighting, sports seats.


A new element of Audi’s exterior design placing a stronger emphasis on the wheel arches are the areas below curved inward.

The new S3 Sportback and the S3 Sedan can be fitted with matrix LED headlights on request. At the rear end, the large diffuser and 4 exhaust tailpipes accentuate the sporty look.

The brake calipers come in black as standard, red ones are optional. The new S3 models come with standard 18-inch wheels, and 19-inch ones as an option.

Compared with their predecessors, the new S3s have grown it in size. The luggage compartment of the S3 Sportback is 11.5–40.4 cu ft (325 and 1,145 liters), the Sedan has a capacity of 13.1 cu ft (370 liters).

The new models feature an S-specific sport suspension which lowers the body by 15 mm (0.6 in).

Connectivity, Other Features

Connectivity between the new Audi S3 and the user’s smartphone is free of charge via the myAudi app, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the Audi phone.

The Audi connect key authorizes the customer to lock and unlock the car and start the engine via the Android smartphone.

For HiFi fans, Audi offers the Bang & Olufsen premium sound system with 3D sound.

Sales, Prices

Presales of the new compact Audi S3 models start in many European countries in August 2020. The first vehicles will reach dealers in October.

In Germany, prices for the S3 Sportback start at €46,302.53, while the S3 Sedan costs from €47,179.83.

The market launch is accompanied by the limited “Edition one.” It comes in Python Yellow (Sportback) or Tango Red (Sedan) paint finishes with black accents and 19-inch wheels, fine Nappa leather sport seats.
