The premiere of the new-generation Toyota Prius will take place next week at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The carmaker has prepared the reveal of the all-new 2023 Toyota Prius at the LA Auto Show 2022. The debut date is November 16, 2022.
Judging by the teaser images available, the new car is the same “hybrid reborn” hatchback but thoroughly redesigned, lower, wider, and sleeker, with sharper-styled headlamps already met on Toyota’s recent concepts and the Crown crossover. In terms of styling, the model really needs improvement. We hope that the interior will pleasantly surprise us too.
In addition to the regular hybrid, expect the return of a plug-in hybrid Prius Prime with bettered electric-only range (the current one is 25 miles).
Toyota and its rivals have comparable hybrids in their lineups. So, to attract buyers, the Toyota Prius must be a unique selling proposition. Particularly, this can be achieved by increasing the already high fuel economy of 56 miles per gallon.

If the company manages to make the Prius more affordable in someway, that will help it too. A competitor – the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, though less fuel efficient, is cheaper than the Prius: $22,800 vs $25,075 before a $1,095 destination charge, other fees, and taxes. The Prius PHEV is even more expensive ($28,770).
