On October 4, the automaker will put the 2022 Silverado 1500 Limited into production. This variant fills the gap between the 2021 Silverado 1500 before updates and the revamped 2022 model.
This strange intermediate Limited model has appeared on the horizon thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, as initially Chevrolet planned to launch the refreshed Silverado 1500 early in the 2022 model year, but postponed then.
The company unveiled the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 on September 9, 2021. The vehicle brings numerous updates in the cabin including a 13.4-inch color multimedia touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, GM’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver-assist system, trailering capabilities, Chevy Safety Assist. The exterior features new headlights, a revised front fascia, and a trio of new colors.
As for ‘under the hood’ changes, a 2.7L L3B I-4 gasoline turbo-four engine features 420 lb.-ft. – 20% more than before. Vehicles with a 3.0L I6 LM2 Duramax turbodiesel tow more now – up to 13,300 pounds.
The most important news about the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the adding of the model’s first-ever ZR2 version. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 becomes the company’s new flagship off-road pickup.
The new Silverado 1500 will arrive at dealerships next spring.
