BMW is finalizing the tests of its all-new M8 to unveil the high-performance coupe with over 600 horsepower in September at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. The carmaker has released some official “spy shots”.
The 2020 BMW M8 debut date is approaching. We’ll see the flagship most powerful M car of the brand in all its glory in early fall 2019, accompanied by new hot M3 sedan and M135i hatchback. A M8 Convertible and a four-door M8 Gran Coupe will follow then.
Meanwhile, let’s look at the spy photos of the M8 Coupe test cars from Portugal. BMW enhanced the vehicle by means of more rigid chassis and body, lower center of gravity, wider track, sports steering and special suspension tunings, diminished kerb weight.
The car shares the motor with the M5. It is about a 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 producing more than 600hp (634hp on the range-topping Competition version). The unit is combined with BMW’s xDrive AWD and 8-speed automatics.
A rear-wheel-drive option is possible too. The claimed combined fuel economy will be near 26mpg, CO2 emissions level is 243-246g/km.
