New BMW i7 xDrive60 Is Available to Pre-Order, Priced at $120,295

The 7th-generation BMW 7 Series lineup adds a new member – a fully electric BMW i7 xDrive60. Pre-orders for it opened yesterday.

The carmaker already announced the pricing for the 2023 BMW 7 Series. The sedan comes in three variants, two familiar and one all-new: a rear-wheel-drive BMW 740i ($94,295), an all-wheel-drive BMW 760i xDrive ($114,595) – both featuring a 48V mild-hybrid technology, and the first-ever BMW i7 xDrive60 that costs $120,295. All prices include a $995 destination charge.

The i7 xDrive60 (upper photo) features an all-wheel-drive system and a single-speed transmission. It uses the fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology comprised of a high-voltage lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 101.7 kWh net, and a duo of highly-efficient electric synchronous motors with a total output of 536 hp and 549 pound-feet of instantaneous torque.

The car is able to speed up from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. The EPA-estimated electric driving range is up to 300 miles (483 km). The top speed is electronically limited to 149 mph (240 km/h).

Compared with the BMW iX and i4 models, the i7 xDrive60 has got improved charging software including more precise control of the battery temperature, better saving of charging profiles, and faster and more detailed displaying of charging-optimized routes by the BMW Maps navigation system. The i7 xDrive60’s adaptive recuperation feature has been also refined compared with the two above-mentioned.
