The latest BMW 3-Series receives a wagon body-styled version early 2019, but it won’t reach North America. Why?
No next-generation 3-Series Sports Wagon is planned to go on sale in the USA, according to BMW of North America.
The Bavarian car maker gives no explanations. We can guess this is because the Americans (and not only) prefer SUVs to wagons.
The brand’s model range for this market has already included the BMW X2 crossover, which is cheaper a bit than the 3-Series, as well as revised X3 and X4 of a similar price level.
The BMW 3-Series Sports Wagon is now available in 330i xDrive and 328d xDrive variants. Its next 2020 iteration is not on the company’s agenda. So, the customers should hurry up to order the model.
It has also become known that BMW will discontinue the 3-Series Gran Turismo after the current model’s run. The reason is quite clear: buyers are preferring crossovers more than hatchback-like vehicles.
