The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, which is considered the fastest in the history of the model, will get a new edition. From the end of February, the muscle car will be offered with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The new transmission is half a second faster than today’s six-speed manual one, with maximum abrupt gear shifting.
Speaking about the new gearbox for the Camaro, Steve Majoros, marketing director for cars and crossovers of Chevrolet, said that one more automatic transmission was the brand’s response to customer requests.
The Camaro ZL1 1LE is equipped with a turbocharged 650-hp LT4 engine.
During preliminary tests on the 2.9-mile track of General Motors, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE showed itself 3 seconds faster than the standard ZL1 coupe.
The ZL1 1LE Track Performance package’s price is $7,500, and the 10-speed automatic transmission will cost additional $1,595.
The base price for the Camaro ZL1 in the United States is $62,000.
