The Peugeot e-Legend Concept, a high-performance all-electric coupe, is being showcased these days at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Some its technologies will be embodied in production cars later on.
The concept car is inspired by the Peugeot 504 model introduced 50 years ago. But the electric Peugeot is not just an elegant newcomer, which honors his legendary ancestor.
This prototype has a specific goal to demonstrate the design potential of the French brand and set direction for further development of electric vehicles. Gilles Vidal, director of style by Peugeot, told that some stylistic techniques would be used in new models of the brand.
Two autonomous modes are provided in the concept – Soft and Sharp, as well as two manual modes – Legent and Boost.
The powertrain consists of two electric motors with a total capacity of 456 hp and 800 Nm of torque). The e-Legend can accelerate to 100 km/h (62mph) in less than 4 seconds.
The 100-kWh battery pack provides a 600-km electric driving range. Thanks to fast charging technology the battery can be charged to 80% in 25 minutes.
These figures look cool, and they are quite real: the company will strive to reach them in their mass electric vehicles by 2025.
