Toyota’s off-road SUV got a new edition for the US car market.
The Venture Edition adds utility and style. In particular, it includes a Yakima Megawarrior roof rack and crossbars. Toyota’s active safety system (TSS-P) comes standard now.
The new Toyota 4Runner receives a modernized infotainment system with a bigger 8-inch touchscreen, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa compatibility.
The vehicle features Gunmetal-colored 17-inch TRD wheels and black exterior accents: outer mirrors, door handles, a rear spoiler and badges.
The Venture Edition is equipped with a part-time 4WD system. Standard CRAWL control provides additional low-range off-road functionality.
Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) helps maintain traction. Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) helps improve grip: it controls wheel spin based on settings (dirt, sand or rock), which the driver selects.
All trim levels offer Toyota’s Star Safety System for stability and traction control. It also includes an anti-lock brake system, Brake Assist, Smart Stop, a brake-override function.
In the cabin, the protective all-weather floor mats, as well as a rear cargo mat come standard. The seats are electric-powered and heated, with “TRD” lettering and SofTex upholstery.
Additional tech can be found inside, including HandsFree Bluetooth phone and music operation.
In front of the driver there is a new instrument panel to control safety functions and provide such details like tire pressure, fuel economy etc.
Rear seat passengers now have two addional USB ports. This edition can also boast standard Smart Key with Push Button Start.
There are 8 standard airbags. The 2020 4Runner comes standard with ToyotaCare.
