Mitsubishi has been updating its model range. Should we expect a new SUV? Its forerunner may be the Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer Concept, a mysterious teaser of which was published not so long ago.
The“Engelberg Tourer” name hints on the Swiss ski resort and means “Angels’ Mountain“. Romantic, isn’t it?
The teaser represents a darkened image of a vehicle somewhat similar to the 2016 Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept (pictures above). This concept (an electric car, most likely) will combine the practicality of a SUV and the versatility of a minivan.
Today we know almost nothing about this new SUV, so, there is reason for dream.
The concept may personify the future arrival of the next-generation Outlander. The plug-in hybrid Mitsubishi Outlander is a successful version on sale. Therefore, an all-electric modification of the model would be a timely offer.
May the Engelberg Tourer be a new Mitsubishi Pajero? Huh! Why not? It’d be great! Albeit the current Pajero remains a serious and capable vehicle, its technically and morally outdated design causes inconvenience to the manufacturer, not to mention the market situation.
Fortunately, we won’t wait long. The first image makes it clear that the Engelberg Tourer is designed in the brand’s fresh style ‘Dynamic Shield’, which has been also tried on the new Mitsubishi ASX. The both will be showcased in March 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show.
The 2020 Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer Concept official premiere is scheduled for March 5, 2019.
