Most Overrated and Most Underrated Electric Cars: Part 2

We continue to develop the topic of electric vehicles in the modern market. Now let’s talk about underrated electric cars which you could miss, but they are worth consideration.

Our TOP 5 most underrated electric cars of our time include:

BMW i3

The manufacture of this global model ended in June 2022 after 9 years and 250,000 vehicles sold. This is the first production electric car of the Bavarian brand.

When the model arrived, unprepared consumers perceived it as an alien due to its bicycle tires, unorthodox bodywork and interior. Not everyone could do justice to the i3.

Nevertheless, the car has already secured a place in the history of BMW and set the precedent for the company’s electrifying future.

BMW i4

This is another under-estimated electric BMW. Cannibalization between other models in the BMW lineup and the competition from the strong segment leader – the Tesla Model 3 seem to be the reasons why the BMW i4 can’t boast a runaway success. But the car is great and deserves consideration.

The i4’s drivetrain is unique in the EV segment, its performance matches pricier rivals and, in addition, the i4 is nice-looking and has a typically BMW interior.

The 2023 BMW i4 is available in two versions – a rear-wheel-drive eDrive40 with 335 hp and 318 lb-ft that starts at $55,900, and an all-wheel-drive M50 edition with 536 hp and 586 lb-ft priced at $67,300.

Kia Niro EV

This vehicle is outshined by other bigger and more noticeable electric SUVs, but we can say it is decent, though not outstanding.

The electric Niro is worth the money for those who have no far commutes due to its affordability (about $32,000 with incentives), adequate driving range of 239 miles for a small SUV, and practicality (quality interior materials, roomy seats, ample cargo space).

Toyota BZ4X

The SUV’s minimalist interior design might not appeal to all buyers, but this simple EV is a decent option for the first electric vehicle.

Its relatively mediocre driving range of 252 miles and so-so cargo space are balanced by an enjoyable ride, quality built, user-friendly features, comfort, and multiple standard safety systems. Besides, it costs less than many rivals.

Volvo C40 Recharge

Сustomers expected more from a car of the luxury class. Yes, we must admit the vehicle’s interior quality, cargo hold, and electric driving range of 226 miles + efficiency impress little compared to competitors.

Still, the C40 Recharge does not deserve to collect dust in car dealer showrooms. This is a Volvo, which means at least high-level safety and a comfortable ride. Peppy acceleration and composed handling are also its “Pros”.
