Electric vehicles are gaining popularity. Recent studies of ICCT have shown interesting statistics.
The International Council on Clean Transport (ICCT) reported on the results of a study on the EVs prevalence. According to it, the country with the largest number of electric vehicles is China.
In particular, most of this kind of transport is located in major Chinese cities. There are 11 of them: Beijing, Changsha, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Wuhan, Zhengzhou.
Moreover, six European cities turned out to be the places where electric vehicles are largely concentrated: London, Paris, Amsterdam, Bergen, Oslo, Stockholm.
Six American cities – Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, San Jose, New York, Seattle – are also in the list.
The list is completed by two cities in Japan:Tokyo and Kyoto.
Interestingly, these 25 cities make up 12% of the global automotive market. In the future, electric cars should continue to extend their popularity. Only in the last two years global EV sales have grown by half.
