Mitsubishi Wants To Try Itself In the US Pickup Segment

In 2024, the Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck may well appear on the US car market. It will expand the model lineup of the brand and try to compete with the recently launched Ford Ranger.

The Mitsubishi Triton, also known as the Mitsubishi L200, has every chance to arrive in the North American market. This is a new-generation model, whose debut is expected in 2024, according to Wards Auto.

The development of the next-gen Triton has become possible due to entry of Mitsubishi into the Renault-Nissan alliance. In particular, the new vehicle will share one platform with the Nissan Frontier.

One of the most popular pickup truck in the world is not on sale in the USA, that is oddly enough. The Mitsubishi Triton, of course, will be able to rival not only to the Toyota Tacoma and Honda Ridgeline, but also to the recently released 2019 Ford Ranger. The latter, rather, can be referred to midsize pickups.

Currently, Mitsubishi offers four SUVs in the U.S. (the Outlander, Outlander PHEV, Outlander Sport, Eclipse Cross), as well as the Citicard Mirage. The Triton won’t be superfluous in this range. Moreover, Mitsubishi dealers in the USA say directly: give us a pickup truck!
