Minivan segment in the USA fell by almost 3% in the first half of 2018. 257,456 new vehicles were sold in total. After the 2.7% rise in Q1, sales dropped in Q2.
The experts of Carsalesbase forecast “the segment may yet bounce back into the black in 2018”.
The old Dodge Grand Caravan remained the leader of the segment and even enlarged its sales by 10% in the second quarter of 2018 (April-June).
After positive dynamics since arrival to market, the Chrysler Pacifica sales declined by 12% in Q2, but eventually the model was able to outsell others .
The Honda Odyssey could overtake the Toyota Sienna in the second quarter of 2018 and took the third position.
The Kia Sedona continued losing demand, and now finds itself last.
The total sales picture in the segment in mentioned period looks like this:
- Dodge Grand Caravan – 86,778 units, +9%;
- Chrysler Pacifica – 63,024 units, +6%;
- Honda Odyssey – 51,255 units, +6%;
- Toyota Sienna – 46,004 units,-18%;
- Kia Sedona – 10,388 units, -31%
