Mini has presented the revised lineup of its popular sports models – 2019 Mini John Cooper Works, both a hatchback and a convertible. They retain their potency but become more environmentally friendly.
Mini has made a Christmas gift to the fans of JCW cars. The updated vehicles of the 2019 model year now conform to the European new stricter emissions regulations.
Mini claims that they reconfigured the engines to meet the requirements for lower level of harmful emissions. But the power and other important features of the cars of both body styles (hatch and convertible) remain the same, which the supporters of the brand like so much.
The European JCWs got a 2.0-liter four-cylinder twin-turbo motor developing 234 hp and 319 Nm of torque. The unit is combined with either a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional eight-speed automatic transmission. The hatchback accelerates from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.3 seconds, the convertible does it 0.3 sec slower.
Facelift cars got specific taillights with a pattern of the flag of Great Britain, as well as new headlights which can carry the Mini logo on. Similar stylish details appeared on the wheels.
Among the updates in the cabin there is a multimedia system, new JCW sports seats, interior backlighting, new black decorative panels. Wireless charging for gadgets is added too.
