Mercedes-Benz EQS Arrives at U.S. Dealerships: Expensive

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS is the first EQ-line model in North America. It will be available at U.S. retailers this fall. Pricing has been announced.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS all-electric luxury sedan is on its way to North American customers. On this continent, the company offers two versions – the EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC, and three highly-equipped trim levels for the model – Premium, Exclusive and Pinnacle. The carmaker says the EQS cars will be arriving in showrooms “in the fall of 2021”, probably meaning October-November.

The 2022 pricing excluding a $1,050 destination and delivery charge is as follows:

Premium

  • EQS 450+ – $102,310
  • EQS 580 4MATIC – $119,110

Exclusive

  • EQS 450+ – $105,710
  • EQS 580 4MATIC – $122,510

Pinnacle

  • EQS 450+ – $108,510
  • EQS 580 4MATIC – $125,310

The list of standard features is long, as well as the list of options. The EQS 450+ comes with a 12.8-inch OLED multimedia touchscreen portrait display. The MBUX Hyperscreen is available on the EQS 580 4MATIC. Both adopt the innovative latest-generation MBUX multimedia system.

The Driver Assistance Systems are standard for the Mercedes EQS. This is a suite of up-to-date active and passive safety techs.

Other standard features include heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, 20-inch wheels on EQS 450+ and 21-inch ones on EQS 580, a power tilt and sliding panorama roof, a premium Burmester 3D Sound System. The base sedan also offers 10-degree rear-axle steering, 64-color ambient lighting, and the Parking Package with Surround View System.

In addition, complimentary maintenance and free unlimited 30-min DC fast-charging sessions with Electrify America will be available for owners/drivers of the new Mercedes-Benz EQS.

By the way, Mercedes also introduced a hot Mercedes-AMG EQS53 4MATIC+, but it is not for sale in the USA yet.

The base Mercedes-AMG EQS53 4MATIC+ achieves 658 hp and 701 lb.-ft. of torque. When it comes with an optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, the vehicle’s maximum output increases to 761 hp and 752 lb.-ft.
