The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC is unveiled. The crossover got new engines, a 48-volt electrical system to save fuel.
Shortly before the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes has officially presented its most promising and popular GLC crossover after intermediate restyling.
While exterior changes are insignificant, there are many technical updates. The main one is the mild-hybrid drive system powered by new on-board 48V electrics.
Using a drive starter-generator as a traction unit saves fuel. In addition, it helps to speed up. Audi uses a similar system.
The motor range has been revised too. The updated GLC is equipped with next-generation four-cylinder engines. In particular, the M 274 gasoline unit replaces the M 264, and the diesel OM 654 will be instead of the OM 651.
It is also worth noting an innovative telematics MBUX – a combination of multimedia touchscreens, navigation system with augmented functionality and intelligent voice control.
