The new GLA 35 4Matic, GLA 45 4Matic+, and GLA 45 S 4MATIC+ have joined the Mercedes-AMG family.
The design of the cars is based on the AMG Line and has distinctive AMG-specific details: a grille, 19-, 20- or 21-inche wheels, door panels, louvers in the outer air inlets; a new diffuser insert at the rear, a spoiler, exhaust tailpipes; inserts in silver chrome or high-gloss black, others.
The models feature a sporty interior with the MBUX infotainment system, a fully-digital instrument cluster with AMG-specific displays, and a multifunction sports steering wheel with optional steering wheel buttons.
Needless to say about the AMG dynamics, a ride control suspension with specific component parts (adaptive damping system, in particular), a robust high-performance brake system, the AMG exhaust system.
Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 4Matic
The Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 4Matic comes with a high-torque 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that delivers 225 kW (306 hp) variably distributed to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (AMG Speedshift DCT 8G) and the AMG Performance 4MATIC variable all-wheel drive.
Combined fuel consumption is 7.5-7.4 l/100 km NEDC (approx. 22-22.3 mpg EPA). Acceleration from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) takes 5.2 seconds.
Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4Matic+
The new Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC+ and GLA 45 S 4MATIC+ compact all-rounders are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine available in two output and torque versions: base 285 kW (387 hp) and S variant’s 310 kW (421 hp). Max. torque is 269 lb-ft (500 Nm).
The sprint from 0 to 62 mph requires just 4.3 seconds (S model), and 4.4 seconds (base model).
The top speed of the GLA 45 4MATIC+ is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h), while the GLA 45 S 4MATIC+ speeds up to 168 mph (270 km/h).
The active, fully-variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive distributes the power to the rear axle wheel-selectively by AMG Torque Control. So it provides the basis for top traction in any driving conditions.
The AMG Speedshift DCT 8G dual clutch gearbox apportions the power within a split second to suit the specific driving situation.
The combined fuel consumption is 9.3-9.1 l/100 km (approx. 17.7-18.1 mpg EPA).
