Mazda has prepared several premieres for the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show. In opens in a month (on March 7, 2019) and will be a place of the company’s new compact SUV debut, the second in the lineup of vehicles made in new Kodo design of the brand.
Mazda will showcase a new model in Geneva in March. This compact SUV is built on Mazda’s new-generation Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture (SVA) and received the latest Skyactiv motors featuring innovative SPCCI technology (Spark Plug Controlled Compression Ignition).
This is the second car in the lineup of vehicles on which Mazda uses its new design language – KODO.
The automaker informed almost nothing about the new compact crossover. The fact that Kodo design in used for its exterior, the SVA is its basis and the powertrain includes latest Skyactiv engines, is not what we couldn’t guess about.
Another thing is the vehicle’s rear part highlighted on the teaser. We can assume that in the Swiss capital Mazda will show a cross-version of already existing model, the CX-3, for example (pictured above).
Along with it the Japanese automaker will introduce the Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition – a special version of the brand’s most successful roadster.
The next-generation Mazda3, both hatch and sedan, will make its debut too. The model got SPCCI and, thus, became the brand’s first production vehicle with such a technology. Mazda’s new intelligent M Hybrid system bettering fuel efficiency is applied here as well.
The best-selling CX-5 with improved interior and driving and more technologically advanced will join other Marda’s debutants in Geneva.
