Mazda has revealed its first production electric car. The 2021 Mazda MX-30 will officially debut at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, but customers can already make reservations.
The new model will arrive at Europe’s dealerships in the second half of 2020 (the UK – in 2021).
This is a five-seat battery electric SUV with Mazda’s DNA, which delivers responsive driving feel and positive characteristics of a regular car. Its dimensions are 4,395 mm ×1,795 mm × 1,570 mm, the wheelbase is 2,655 mm.
The Mazda MX-30’s exterior and interior embody the KODO design language. The vehicle has unique freestyle doors giving easy access to seats.
Eco-friendly materials substitute leather inside. A floating center console features environmentally sourced cork which provides creative storage space.
A right-sized lithium-ion 35.5-kWh battery is rigidly integrated into the vehicle body. The driving range reaches 124 miles (200 km).
Mazda’s unique G-Vectoring Control (GVC) and electric G-Vectoring Control Plus help support driving stability.
