At the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed a new GTS version of the Maserati Levante SUV has been unveiled, according to the Auto Express.
It is a sister car to this year debutant Levante Trofeo and a rival to the Porsche Macan. The SUV is equipped with a 8-cylinder 3.8-liter twin turbo engine which develops 550 hp (less than the 598-hp Trofeo) and max 730 Nm of torque. The motor is mated with an 8-speed ZF transmission and FCA’s Q4 all-wheel drive.
The Maserati Levante GTS will accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds. The top speed claimed is 291 km/h (181 mph) – not more than the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio has, but it makes the car one of the fastest in the world.
The Levante GTS’s exterior looks similar to the more powerful Trofeo. It features more aggressive and lower front end, new 22-inch alloy wheels.
In the cabin sports pedals and premium leather upholstery are available in the standard. The infotainment is claimed to be updated with new graphics. An upscale Harman Kardon stereo system with 14 speakers and adaptive LED matrix headlights are optional.
For better driving they offer the Integrated Vehicle Control stability system. The Levante is now available with 11 exterior colour options and 5 new wheel designs.
