Longer-wheelbase Lincoln Navigator L Spotted in Real World

The Lincoln Navigator got a mid-cycle refresh for the 2022 model year. The other day, its L modification with a longer wheelbase hit the road and caught the eye of spy photographers.

The information about the 2022 Lincoln Navigator is already available on the brand’s official website. Early next year, the model will go on sale. Ford Authority’s spies provide us with the opportunity to see a Navigator (its elongated version) alive and have a good look at the exterior.

The vehicle features a new signature grille, 3D taillights, adaptive pixel projector headlights. We know that the 2022 model offers new exterior paints – Manhattan Green Metallic and Starlight Gray in addition to new Black Label interior themes and exclusive wood appliques inside (Espresso Ash Swirl, Santos Redwood).

The cabin is a sample of luxury and convenience with its 30-way Perfect Position Seats, Revel’s Ultimate 3D sound system with 28 speakers and 6 symphonic chimes, a 5.8-inch digital module with climate and audio controls for 2nd-row passengers.

The 2022 Navigator is a real innovative vehicle. It is the first Lincoln to adopt the ActiveGlide hands-free driving technology. It boasts a new Adaptive Suspension with Road Preview using 12 sensors and a front-facing camera. The model gets over-the-air updates via the Lincoln Enhance system. A new 13.2-inch infotainment screen runs Ford’s latest SYNC 4 software.

We recall that under the Navigator’s hood there is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost six-cylinder engine that makes 440 hp and 510 lb-ft and pairs a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Ford Motor Co. launches its revamped Lincoln Navigator to compete with the latest 2021 Cadillac Escalade, first of all. The Escalade, by the way, is the best-selling model of the brand, while sales of the current Navigator are far from ideal: only 11,052 units were sold within 8 months of this year. The new Navigator, when it arrives in 2022, should boost sales. Customers are waiting for it.
