Tesla starts selling a long-awaited Model 3 priced at $35,000 (Standard Range trim). Deliveries will begin next month in the USA.
Fans of the Tesla brand have been looking forward to this promised affordable version arrival in the market. The car is capable of driving 220 miles (354km) on a single charge.
Besides, it has simpler equipment than other variants: fabric seats, manual adjustment of the seats and steering, uncomplicated acoustics and lack of some electronic assistants available on pricier versions.
However, it is still an EV with good dynamics. It needs 5.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100km/h), the top speed is 130mph (209 km/h).
For an extra pay of $2,000, customers will get more powerful Standard Range Plus version. It features 240 miles (386km) of range, 5.4 sec of acceleration and 140mph (225 km/h) of maximal speed. Heated seats adjustable in 12 directions, improved acoustics, LED headlights and some other tweaks are optional.
We remind that the Mid Range, Long Range and Sport Performance trim levels priced from 42,000 to 78,000 dollars have been on sale before the most affordable Model 3 arrival.
In addition, the table below from statista shows the driving ranges (NEDC test) of electric cars available on the market ranked from the longest to the shortest.
According to WLTC cycle ((Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Cycle), which is more true and up-to-date, the actual ranges are approximately 100km (62 miles) less.
