Lexus has teased an all-new pure electric RZ 450e model again and announced its debut date.
The Lexus RZ 450e, the first production model of the “Lexus Electrified” vision, will be revealed on April 20, 2022, at 6 a.m. Eastern Time. The market launch is expected next year.
This time, Lexus published images of the interior with a yoke-like steering wheel and the front fascia with L-shaped headlights.
The Lexus RZ 450e will use an intuitive and responsive next-generation Direct4 electric drive control technology. The system uses a front and rear e-axle, each comprising a transaxle and high-torque electric motor to focus on drive force distribution in an optimal way. A single driveshaft directly connects the motor to the wheels to operate with no delay.
In the Lexus RZ 450e, Direct4 will likely produce 350-450 horsepower. We’ll know all the details in 2 weeks.
UPDATE 04-19-2022: The all-new pure electric Lexus RZ has been teased once more. This time, we can see a solid narrow line of rear lighting that connects the vehicle’s sides. Tomorrow’s premiere will feature the driving fun the Lexus RZ can offer with sounds of nature like in the real world stimulating the five senses, under the “Voice of the Earth” theme.
