A new Lexus IS 500 sports sedan has starred in a video “Parking Spot”, which will headline a marketing campaign to Marvel Studios’ “Eternals” film.
The Lexus LS 500 flagship sedan and the all-new Lexus NX crossover will make appearances in the movie “Eternals” which centers on a team of superheroes living on Earth in secret for thousands of years.
On October 4, 2021, Lexus, as an exclusive automotive partner of Marvel Studios, launched the dedicated high-profile marketing campaign with a clip titled ‘Parking Spot ‘. The campaign is set to appear in a wide range of media placements.
In the video, the movie hero Kingo played by Kumail Nanjiani is trying to find a safe parking spot for his new Lexus IS 500 F SPORT Performance before joining the epic Super Hero battle. The spot is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and features a new voice of Lexus – actor Gaius Charles. Brothers Russo have directed four Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
The IS 500 F SPORT Performance is the most powerful Lexus IS ever with a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that makes 472 horsepower. Power comes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed sport-tuned automatic transmission with Normal, Sport, and Eco drive settings.
Lexus promises the high-performance sedan to achieve 24 mpg (highway) and 16 mph (city). Its 0- 60 mph acceleration takes 4.4 seconds. The vehicle’s sport-tuned suspension provides better cornering; brake rotors with cooling vents (14 inches in the front, 12.7 in the rear) bring the car to a stop.
In the USA, the Lexus IS 500 F SPORT Performance’s price is below some competitors, such as the BMW M3, the Audi RS 5 Sportback, or the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG. It starts at $57,575 including a destination fee and can be comparable with the Cadillac CT4 Blackwing starting at $59,990, inclusive destination. The latter is powered by a 472-hp turbocharged V6.
