Lexus ES Gets AWD and a Special Edition For the 2021 Model Year

The updated sedan goes on sale this fall. Lexus has set the U.S. prices.

The 2021 Lexus ES 250 is the first ES with the all-wheel drive option. It comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 203 hp (151 kW) and consuming 28 mpg. For comparison: the fuel economy of the FWD version with the 3.5-liter V6 is 26 mpg.

The Lexus ES 250 AWD F Sport modification is also available for 2021. It offers the sport-tuned suspension, 19-inch wheels, performance rubber, blacked-out visual cues.

The limited Black Line Edition based on the F Sport trim is new for the next model year. It is available only with front-wheel drive, and in 1,500 examples.

This edition provides three color options (Ultrasonic Blue Mica, Obsidian, Ultra White), black mirror caps and lip spoiler, dark wheels, black-and-white interior.

One of the highlights of the 2021 Lexus ES Black Line Edition is Zero Halliburton’s two-piece luggage set with a 22.0-inch carry-on bag and a bigger 26.0-inch travel case.

The Lexus ES facelift will reach dealers this fall, with a base price of $39,900. Other pricing is as follows:

  • Luxury $45,100
  • F Sport $45,700
  • Black Line $46,550
  • Ultra Luxury $48,900
