Last Overland Travelers Visited Land Rover’s Plant to Meet a Defender

The Last Overland Expedition, traveling from Oxford and Cambridge to Singapore, and from there to London, has visited the plant in Nitra (Slovakia), where the legendary Land Rover Defender is manufactured.

Travelers examined the new Defender and left satisfied. VIPs arrived at the meeting with the group: the Prime Minister of Slovakia and Jaguar Land Rover’s chief executive officer.

The expedition will last 100 days. The team consists of eight people from the UK, the USA, Belgium, France, Indonesia and Singapore. These desperate guys travel by the 64-year-old Land Rover Oxford, repeating the famous expedition to the Far East, which lasted 1 year, from 1955 to 1956.

They had to overcome obstacles and trials in difficult geographical and weather conditions, even there were cases of illnesses.

Land Rover will continue to support Last Overland on its journey through Western Europe. The group will go through Austria, Germany, France and Belgium. Then it will return to the United Kingdom and be met at Folkestone on December 14.

At the end of the journey, at Hilton Park Lane in London, a few meters from the place where the first historical expedition finished, a special Land Rover Defender in themed colors will join the travelers.
