A high-performance SVR version of the successful and bright Land Rover Range Rover Velar is in the final stage of development and should arrive soon. The prototypes have been spotted again by carparazzi, the shots and a video are available on the Internet.
Visual changes are intakes in the front bumper, brake discs and calipers which have become larger. A diffuser is integrated into the rear bumper and fringed by huge exhausts.
The Velar SVR will probably receive the same technical package as the relative Jaguar F-Pace SVR. It is first of all about a potent 5.0-liter eight-cylinder 550-hp motor with a supercharger (681 Nm / 502 lbft).
The car’s eight-speed automatic gearbox, suspension and anti-roll system are upgraded as well. For comparison: the most powerful version of the standard Velar has a supercharged 3.0-liter 380-hp V6.
The hot Land Rover Range Rover Velar SVR may debut next month at the 2018 LAA (Los Angeles Auto Show). Its arrival to the market is expected early next year as the 2019 model.
It will be a rival to the models from Mercedes-AMG, BMW M and Audi Sport line, in particular, the BMW X6 M and Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe. JLR has already had other SVR models, such as the Range Rover Sport SVR and Jaguar F-Type SVR.
