Kia Concept EV9 Is Teased: It Premieres on November 11

The Kia Concept EV9 will make its debut in live stream on November 11th, 2021, according to the company’s recent teaser on Instagram.

Kia teases an all-new model, more precisely, announces the date of its premiere. In two days, on November 11 and 8 a.m. GMT, interested people will be able to see the Kia Concept EV9’s online unveiling on YouTube. The carmaker invites us to join the ‘Kia Sustainability Movement’.

The teaser itself is not too informative: just several words and a darkened silhouette. At least, we can see the overall shape of the vehicle and guess it is an electric SUV, which Kia plans to make its flagship model.

By size, it seems to be larger than the Kia Sorento. At first glance, it looks as big as the Kia Telluride.

Early this year, Kia announced it would launch the electric lineup on the Kia-Hyundai E-GMP platform, with names between EV1 and EV9.

Kia has already introduced the EV6 crossover (upper photo) from this lineup. It will go on sale in the USA in January 2022 offering a choice of motor layouts, battery sizes, drive options, colors. The price will start at around $45,000. The Kia Concept EV9 will be the next.

The EV6 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and targets up to 300 miles of range. The carmaker claims the vehicle charges up to 210 miles within 18 min with a compatible 800-volt DC, offers a 10-year battery warranty and a dual-motor e-AWD, a futuristic design, an Augmented Reality head-up display, and other ‘goodies’. Probably, the EV9 will have similar features.
