The minivan is sold under the Sedona name in the USA, but globally known as the Carnival. It will receive the Carnival name in America with the next redesign.
Kia already unveiled the global new-generation Carnival in August 2020.
The U.S.-spec Kia Carnival should arrive as a 2022 model, according to an NHTSA VIN decoder document. Expect is at dealers by the end of 2021.
The model in its new iteration (4th generation) and under its new name will offer LX, EX, and SX trim levels. The vehicle will have a much more modern appearance enhanced by several SUV-style elements. Expect to see significant updates inside, including a new center console.
The base U.S. Carnival will come with a V6 engine with 3.5 liters of displacement and 290 hp of power, and front-wheel drive.
The current 2021 Kia Sedona costs between $30,400-$41,500. It boasts a smooth ride, balanced handling, a good predicted reliability rating. But the model’s MPG figures could be better, as well as the third row of seats that is smaller than some rivals have.
