Three months after the world debut of the new (3rd) generation Kia Soul EV in Los Angeles, Kia is reading its European premiere. The Kia e-Soul for Europe will be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show next week and goes on sale ‘towards the end of the 1st quarter of 2019’.
The 2019 Kia e-Soul is more powerful, faster and 30% more efficient than the current electric car. It got all-new design, two battery options, some new tech.
The vehicle comes in standard-range (39.2kWh battery,100kW motor) and long-range (64 kWh, 150kW) variants. Its driving range is up to 280 miles (452km) according to the WLTP cycle. Combined Charging System (CCS) DC fast-charging capability is available as standard.
Retaining a recognizable “cubic” design, the e-Soul got more futuristic details, such as narrow LED headlights connected by a strip along the hood’s front edge.
The car features sharper lines, a huge two-tone false grille, which hides active cruise control elements; more accented wheels, a rear rack with traits of an aircraft’s wing and a ‘Soul‘ logo on it; all-new boomerang-shaped rear lights.
Apart from the updated interior trim, a new 10.25-inch multimedia system, a wireless charger for gadgets, an 8-inch projection screen, a 640W Harman/Kardon audio system will be available to customers.
Expect the newcomer on sale this spring. We should add that the next Soul with an internal combustion engine won’t be delivered to Europe.
